Friday Favourites 12th - 18th December 2015

best of the week 18.12

best of the week 18.12

Oh look, a post that went up on time, what a novelty! Soz for yesterdays mishap.

This week has been another Christmassy corker and my Friday favs reflect that. If you're not in the Christmassy mood, you probably won't like this post. My apologies, come back tomorrow.

1. Christmas Decorations.

This weekend, my brother came home for the first time in weeks and weeks and after a fortnight of frantically decorating, our living room is no longer just the hole it once was and is now literally a grotto. The tree is MASSIVE, the baubles are on, the decorations are all over the ceiling and every available surface is covered in ornaments and fake snow. It's pretty adorable.

2. Christmas Shopping.

It's official. I am ALMOST finished Christmas shopping. When I was in university I would have my presents done and wrapped for the beginning of December ready for the big journey home but this year I waited for the boyfriend to have a week off and we did 99% of it in one day mega shop (read about that here). Obviously I couldn't shop for him when he was there with me so this week I've taken the car out for a spin (I've had it a week, what a novelty) and I am now pretty much done. I LOVE christmas shopping and I am holding off wrapping until the weekend to have a marathon of tartan paper, ribbons and bows. Mega.

3. Socialising.

YES! Last weekend I actually got out of the house and finally got to see some of my chums. I spent Saturday with my lovely pals from my Foundation course (read a liddle bit more about them here) and we had a IKEA breakfast which was delightful and a mooch around Cardiff and it was all kinds of glorious. I've said it before and I'll probably say it each time I see them but these people are my people. <3 <3 <3 And then just for good measure I bumped into my niece (and her mother and father, she's 6 months old, she wasn't just shopping on her own) and I got to carry her around the shops for a bit and watch her being a cheeky monkey. It was cute.

4. Mug Rug.

Yes you read right. Whilst I was out with my pals on Saturday, we were royally stitched up when one friend produced Christmas presents and the rest of us hadn't got each other anything....yuh huh...that fated situation. But it was all made alright when we unwrapped our smarties tube to find we each had a mug rug, in different colours. A mug rug is a piece of fabric sewn to be...yeah you guessed it, a rug. There is one section for your tea and one section for your biscuits and it is genius. we were crying with laughter pretty much down the whole street. Thanks Saeed!!

5. It's Nice To Be Nice.

This week I did two round ups of my fav people; one on Instagram and one on Bloggers and people were really happy about it! I got a lot of love back from the people I included and it seems like they were genuinely pleased to have someone say "I love what you're doing, you go gal. People need to be nicer more, it's good for the soul and brings everyone a bit of festive cheer!
