13 WAYS I'VE MADE MY PHONE A HEALTHIER PLACE TO BE

The last year has tested us in so many ways but I didn’t expect it to test my relationship with my phone as much as it has. The constant availability because for real, what else are you even doing? The doom scrolling online, the constant shit news, everyone having a bad time and offloading - it all got a little much and then throw in working from home where work life balances basically don’t exist and I found myself sick of the sight of my iPhone. Let alone the clicking feeling I’ve been getting in my thumbs…..

9 Little Life Updates

Well 2021 lockdown hit different didn’t it?

Write blog post has been on my to do list every week for the last….three months? I used to pride myself on my ability to churn out daily content and there wouldn’t be a day where I didn’t have the laptop out in front of the tv. These days, the work life balance has been non existent and the idea of sitting in front of another screen has been the last thing I wanted to do - let alone find the bleedin’ time!

Finally though, in front of Gogglebox and snuggled up in a blanket on a Thursday evening I have the time to type a line or two - so what better way than to catch you up on what’s been going on.

THIRTY THREE THINGS I CANNOT WAIT FOR POST PANDEMIC

It’s easy to forget in this moment of madness, this year which has thrown everything we know into disarray that actually, the new normal isn’t well…..normal.

We are not used to mask wearing in the UK, daily press conferences, staying away from our loved ones, spending this much time at home. Shops being closed, children being schooled at home, the inability to just get in the car and drive somewhere or pop in here to pick something up - it’s all alien to our usual way of life and for those of us who didn’t get a taster of those things back in the summer, it’s been a long slog of acting like this is life now.

Whilst there are plenty of aspects of our ‘old’ life I can’t imagine having back (overcrowding can get in the bin and I cannot ever imagine using a public loo) there are also things from our ‘new’ life I’d like to see stay. I definitely can’t see myself going back to the weekly supermarket run with half of Cardiff on a Saturday morning and I’d like to see masks stick around but really, there’s so much of our pre covid days I can’t wait to see again.

8 Things That Happened Since We Last Spoke | 10.01.21
Twenty Twenty

I am going into 2021 with cautious optimism knowing full well the first few months are going to be hard, scary, upsetting and worrying but just holding onto the hope, the glimmer of better things to come, the chance to resemble something more normal, the knowledge that this will not be forever it just won’t be and a plea for a happier, healthier year for all the people I hold dear. And if I could go on my honeymoon that would be fab too.

This is 27

It’s my 27th birthday today and as with every birthday that’s come before it since the age of about 21 when it started getting a bit same old same old, I am sat reminiscing about the last 365 days and how quick it’s gone. 27 years on this planet. In that time again I’ll be 54 and probably lived a whole other life.

144 Tabs I have open on my phone

I feel like what tabs you have open on your phone says a lot about you as a person. It’s your deepest darkest secrets, the worries you won’t tell anyone else and all your shopping habits you’re hiding from your other half.

49 Thoughts You Have Moving From Apple To Android.

For those of you who don't know I made the big commitment to sell up my dying iPhone and move to android about a fortnight ago. The move wasn't one I wanted to make but it was made out of necessity. My iPhone 6 was on it's last legs, I have a £7.50 sim only contract, I couldn't justify to myself getting a new iPhone contract but couldn't afford to spend £600+ on a new one and here we are. One order of a refurbished Samsung Galaxy 6 for under 200 quid later and my Apple days are no more.

But with my move from Apple to Android came a few noticeable differences....

11 Things To Do On Christmas Day.

The big day is creeping ever closer and I've talked a lot about tradition over the past fortnight since I've been working on my 12 days series. There are some things we all do on Christmas Day and some things I think are maybe a bit more, niche shall we say, to each family.

Think of it as a bucket list of sorts, a checklist of things to tick off with your loved ones on the 25th.

8 Ways To Make Christmas Last Ages (Or A Few Extra Days At Least)

So if you've read my post a few days back on why Christmas is the best time of the year then it'll come as no surprise that I like to make it last as long as possible. Sure it might be one date on the calendar but it starts December 1st we all know that.

If you're also resembling Buddy the elf at this point in the week like I am then here's 8 ways to make it last as long as you possibly can - or at least longer than solely the 25th December.

Things That Only Happen At The Supermarket (When You're Old)

There are some things in life that just happen without you noticing. One day Tesco is the place your Mum drags you to after school and you protest and make it misery until you're old enough to be life in the car...the next day you're a real life adult going to Tesco because it's your responsibility.

There are some things that only happen at the supermarket when you're a certified old person.

Things That Happened When I Moved Home For 10 Days.

If you haven't seen me wanging on about it over on Insta stories, you might be forgiven for not knowing I've moved back to my childhood home for 10 days whilst my parents are away to house/cat sit.

Now I've not been officially moved out of my parents house all that long, only since January but having my own place has definitely changed my mentality on coming home, whether it IS home or not anymore and what I love and not so much love about it - but that's a future blog post in the making.

Here's a list of a few things that happened when I, a nearly 24 and a half year old actual adult human, lived alone in my childhood house for 10 days;
